Grow and Develop in Good Health

Guided by a Comprehensive Health Literacy Curriculum

Adolescents assume increased responsibility for their health, particularly regarding health decision-making for lifestyle behaviors. The health habits, knowledge, and skills needed to make those decisions are established during adolescence. The Ushauri team approaches health literacy as a critical factor in making safer choices with respect to health.

Our engaging knowledge-building instruction helps students identify and connect health literacy to better understand health situations and conditions. And our unique approach helps students take up responsibility for their health and choices. We believe that when they know what they should and shouldn’t do with their health, they are in a better position to make informed decisions and positive choices
